Overview:

We have a vacancy within our People Services team for a People Services Assistant to join a well-established team where you will be at the centre of the HR operations, supporting employees and managers queries.  You will be able to make a difference to the internal support we offer as a HR department to ensure we maintain good processes and practices in line with employment legislation.  As well as the day-to-day tasks this role will offer the opportunity to help the team push forward with it's ongoing continuous improvements and service offering.   

The role:

To support the delivery of a comprehensive first class and right-first time people service across the organisation by providing a proactive, reliable and effective support to the People Team and across the Group.

Acting as a first point of contact for all people queries with a strong customer focus, giving information and signposting where appropriate, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.

Key priorities:

  • First line point of contact to employees and managers via phone or email, answering questions and signposting on policy or terms and conditions. 
  • Completing administration work for employee lifecycle processes such as new contracts of employment, amendments to terms, leaver processing, family friendly leave processing and probation review administration.  
  • Providing information to payroll in a timely manner.  
  • Maintaining HR data, systems and staff files.  
  • Ad hoc projects requiring HR administration support to the business.  
  • Maintain the relevant HR compliance checks for employees, which include Right to Work UK expiry date checks and chasing.  Processing of staff DBS renewals.  
  • Answering queries on annual leave entitlement. 
  • Monitoring probation review forms and completion rates, escalating when needed. 
  • Supporting recruitment administration and new starter record keeping for compliance.
